This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about native plants of the tallgrass prairie region, as well as some troublesome weeds. Possible uses include survey of roadside plantings, weed scouting in CRP, monarch habitat surveys, or appreciation of your farm’s wildlife habitat.
In the fourth session, participants will continue to discuss plants commonly found in Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) plantings and early prairie restoration. Common weeds, and those classified as invasive and noxious, will also be reviewed.
This series is a collaborative effort between the Tallgrass Prairie Center (TPC) and Practical Farmers of Iowa (PFI).
